The house is situated adjacent to the Port Republic Battleground and part of the Civil War Trail that traces many events of that era. Dotted throughout the valley are exceptional vineyards and wineries, and you can go back in time by roaming through Mennonite Country where there are open markets, frequented by horse-and-buggy trade, and beautiful rural farmlands. The area is also known for its rich heritage in bluegrass and mountain music, festivals and lawn parties, country arts, crafts, and unusual quilts, and many visitors are drawn to the quaint antique shops and country stores.
